About Amy Pang

I was born in Hong Kong, and went to high school in London.

My first research job was at LaCIM, Montreal, Canada - a very friendly department and a great city to live in. Afterwards I joined HKBU, my first long-term job.

In summer 2022, in view of Covid, protests and family, I decided to de-specialise and teach full-time.

Some of my hobbies:

buying bread and fruit, and trying unusual foods
reading about technology to improve studying with SEN, mental health, and aging, like a smart plant companion by my students' startup
going to beautiful and inspiring places on campus and around HK, like exhibitions or nature
playing DIVE (a prime number version of 2048) and Squardle (a square version of Wordle)

I am face-blind and semi-lingual.
